Myocardial Infection

OVERVIEW

A heart attack (myocardial infarction) is usually caused by a blood clot, which stops the blood flowing to a part of your heart muscle.

Pressure or tightness in the chest.
shortness of breath sweating nausea vomiting anxiety.

Symptoms

Causes

♦ An abnormally low level of HDL (high-density lipoprotein), commonly called “good
cholesterol”
♦ High blood pressure (hypertension)
♦ Diabetes.
♦ Family history of coronary artery disease at an early age.
♦ Cigarette smoking.
♦ Obesity.

A diagnosis of myocardial infarction is created by integrating the history of the presenting illness
and physical examination with electrocardiogram findings and cardiac markers (blood tests for heart
muscle cell damage). A coronary angiogram allows visualization of narrowing or obstructions on the
heart vessels, and therapeutic measures can follow immediately. At autopsy, a pathologist can
diagnose a myocardial infarction based on  anatomopathological  findings.

Diagnosis

Treatment

2). Immediate hospitalization.
3). Treat life threatening problems.
4). Remove pain and suffering.
5). Preserve as much myocardium as possible by dissolution of Blood Clot or
Thrombus, Blocking Lumen of Coronary Artery.
